Janet Chan, O. D.

Dr. Janet Chan is a native New Jerseyan who completed her undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley. She earned her optometric degree with honorary distinction from Southern California College of Optometry and was the recipient of the 1999 Alcon Excellence award. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and the California Optometric Association.
Dr. Chan became a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry in 2005. To become a Fellow, one is required to write clinical case reports and to sit through a final oral examination. Upon successfully completing the oral examination, one is awarded the Fellow status. Only 10 percent of Optometrists ever become Fellows of the Academy. When she is not in the office, Dr. Chan enjoys going to the park and other outdoor activities with her husband Felix, her daughters and their two dogs. |
Joanna Sugimoto, OD

Dr. Sugimoto is a cheerful and friendly East Bay native who loves helping patients see their world clearly. She earned her degree in Integrative Biology from UC Berkeley and went on to complete her Doctor of Optometry at UC Berkeley School of Optometry, where she refined her skills through extensive training and externships. Passionate about vision care, she believes that sight is one of life’s most precious gifts and strives to provide every patient with the highest level of care. When she’s not in the clinic, Dr. Sugimoto enjoys horseback riding, walking her dog, spending quality time with her family, and reading a good book. |

She performs pretesting examinations, and help you select the right frames and lens options for your vision needs and lifestyle. Yesenia is fluent in Spanish and in her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family. |
DANIELA
Daniela helps ensure that your eyeglasses are made properly and meet our quality standards before they reach you. She is also very knowledgeable about frames and can help you find an option that fits your style and vision needs.
Trying contact lenses for the first time? Daniela can teach you how to properly insert and remove your contacts and will help make the learning process comfortable and positive.
Daniela is fluent in Spanish and is happy to assist our Spanish-speaking patients.

KIMBERLY

Kimberly performs pretesting procedures, including using the iCare tonometer to measure eye pressure. This helps our doctors evaluate for certain eye conditions, including glaucoma.
Kimberly is fluent in Spanish and enjoys assisting patients throughout their visit, including helping them find frames that suit their style and vision needs. She is also interested in pursuing a career in optometry and enjoys learning more about the field as she works toward becoming a future optometrist. Outside of work, Kimberly enjoys watching movies and taking walks with her dogs. |
Gladys

Gladys performs pretesting procedures, including visual field testing, which can help our doctors evaluate for glaucoma and other conditions affecting the eyes and visual pathways. Gladys also enjoys helping patients find the perfect frame and lens options to meet their vision needs and personal style. She is fluent in Spanish. Outside of work, Gladys enjoys watching movies, journaling, baking, and cooking. She also loves spending time outdoors. |
OFELIA

Ofelia is a board certified optician who can help you with your eye care needs. She is fluent in Spanish.
During her spare time, she enjoys acrylic painting, aerobics, and spending time with her four grandchildren. |
Felix
|
Felix is an optician who can edge your lenses in our in-house lab facility while you wait! He can also repair and adjust anything that is still fixable. He has an eye for design and frame styling.
One of his many accomplishments includes earning a bachelors degree from Pratt Institute. |
